ShockmanWendell Earl was born in Albina Marowijne, Suriname.
After all the nostalgic times, he discovered the rapper 2pac shakur that would later inspire him to enter the music scene. Exactly one year after the death of Tupac, Wendell decided to call herself Shock e and took part in jam sessions in Amsterdam and everywhere where open mics were held. Later he met one of the members of the K-Liber group who would produce tracks for him. He participated in the Most Wanted with long French and Baas B, where he would befriend and together drop a CD called 'Guest List' with Ali B, Yess R and more. In the year 2006 he decided to change his name shock -e to shockman. And changed his hip-hop style more to the dance-hall reggae, because that was more in his blood. In Suriname he grew up with music by Buju Banton, Cutty Ranks, Shabba Ranks and Bob Marley.
In 2006, Shockman became the first dance-hall artist in history to reach the final big prize in the Netherlands, thus entering different venues.
